Peng Liu currently works at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Lanzhou University. Peng does research in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Chemistry and Electrochemistry. Their most recent publication is 'Facile one-pot synthesis of well-defined coaxial sulfur/polypyrrole tubular nanocomposites as cathodes for long-cycling lithium sulfur battery'.

Prof. Arote Rohidas is an Associate Professor and the director of Nanomedicine Laboratory in the Dept. of Molecular Genetics, School of Dentistry, Seoul National University. Prof. Arote is one of the leading scientists in the field of biomaterials development for gene delivery especially for cancer treatment. His research on DNA therapeutics, biodegradable polymeric carriers, and nanoparticles has been published in over 50 international journals and also produced various patents. Prof. Arote’s lab is focusing on development of novel biomaterials and nanotechnologies for a variety of medical applications including gene/drug delivery, diagnosis, bioimaging, and regenerative medicine also on both fundamental and applied questions in the cross-disciplinary fields of biomaterials and medicine in order to develop novel therapeutic methods for the treatment of cancer, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.

Dr. James Kah is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in NUS. He received his B.Eng. with first class honours in Electrical Engineering and subsequently completed his Ph.D. in 2009, both from National University of Singapore (NUS). Prior to joining NUS in the fall of 2012, James was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is currently the Principal Investigator of the Nanomedicine & Nanorobotics Laboratory at NUS. His current research interests focus on understanding the nano-bio interface and developing nanodevices with smart interface strategies to effectively probe and modulate biological processes for diagnostic and therapeutic applications particularly in cancer and infectious diseases.

Bruno Sarmento, Pharm. D., PhD, is a Research Scientist in the Pharmaceutical Technology Department of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Porto University and Assistant Professor of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department of the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde-Norte. He received his PhD degree in 2007 from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto and was a visiting PhD student at the Chemical Engineering Department, Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada, at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark and Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
